Modesty Redefined: An LDS Lesson Plan

Because of our┬ádoctoral research on body image and self-objectification, as well as our numerous speaking engagements for stakes of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and our headquarters in Salt Lake City, Utah, we have received countless requests to create a lesson plan specifically for LDS leaders and parents relating to the popular topic of modesty or appropriate dress. Recognizing this need, we have created an in-depth, gospel-oriented lesson plan that combines scripture, instruction from “For the Strength of Youth,” words of church leaders, and our own doctoral research. We believe this unique combination of sources and perspectives has allowed us to create an empowering, spiritually driven and practical lesson plan for the Young Women (and older women) of the church. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that depends on donations for support, we are offering this lesson plan through Beauty Redefined in exchange for a donation of any amount. Once we have received your donation, we will e-mail you the link to download the password-protected PDF of the lesson plan along with the password to access the file. We ask that you do not copy or share the lesson plan with anyone else, and instead encourage you to send others the link to this page to purchase their own copy.

Thank you in advance for your support of Beauty Redefined and your willingness to promote positive body image and spiritual empowerment among your circles of influence!
